When will The International School @ ParkCity Hanoi (ISPH) open?

ISPH will open in August 2019.

What age of children will attend ISPH?

The school will eventually host children aged from 3 to 18 years old. However, when the school opens in August 2019, it will be for children aged 5 to 13 years old, and each subsequent year it will cater for older children.

What curriculum does ISPH offer?

ISPH programmes of study are based on the UK National Curriculum, providing internationally renowned standards for learning in English, Mathematics and Science, and the foundation subjects. Our curriculum is enhanced in numerous ways to best cater for our students and our international context.

Where will the teachers be recruited from?

All ISPH staff will be fully qualified and highly experienced teachers. The profiles of all teachers will be available for viewing on the staff section of our the website.

What are the school fees?

The schedule of our school fees is available here. We have several incentives available for families who join ISPH during our first year, including a full waiver of the application fee and a reduction in tuition fees. Please follow the link above for details.

Does ISPH have a sister school?

Yes, ISPH is the second international school operated by the ParkCity Group. The sister school is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is called The International School @ ParkCity. Our schools are overseen by Mr Andrew Dalton, our Director of Education.

How do you determine the year group for my child?

The correct year group is determined by the age they will be on 1st September, at the start of our academic year. We follow the same academic year as the UK, Europe and USA, and most other international schools.

What is the class size at ISPH?

Student numbers will not exceed 24 students per class.

What is the academic staff to student ratio?

Throughout Early Years and Primary, each class has one fully qualified, highly experienced lead teacher and at least one full-time Classroom Assistant. Additional support staff are shared within Secondary departments.

What languages are taught at ISPH?

All lessons will be taught in English with the exception of Vietnamese & Korean. We may also offer Mandarin, depending on demand from our founding families.

Are school bus services available?

ISPH will work closely with a highly reputable local transport company to offer bus services. More details will be shared in the future.

What nationalities are the students at ISPH?

As an international school, we offer education for children from a diverse range of nationalities. We expect that our student population will be truly international.

What time does school start and finish?

The start and end times are expected to be from 8.00am to 3.00pm yet these times will be confirmed in the near future. The school will offer after school activities which will run from 3.15 - 4.15pm

If our child faces difficulties in speaking the English language, do you have any special English Language programme to help?

Yes, we have a programme of ‘English as Additional Language’ (EAL) support which is designed to help students who need to develop fluency and competency in English. Students are assessed at the admissions stage, and when first joining school, to determine if they would benefit from this programme.

Does ISP offer support services for students with special needs or learning disabilities?

ISPH will have a Learning Support Department with staff who provide specialist additional support for those students who may benefit from this provision. On occasion, we may not be able to meet the needs of children with specific needs and/or learning disabilities and we assess all applicants to ensure that we are able to effectively cater for their needs before they are accepted into ISPH. We request that parents of prospective ISPH students openly declare all necessary information about their child during the application process.

What Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are available at ISPH?

A wide range of after school activities will be provided to cater for a variety of interests. Each term parents will be sent details of the CCAs being offered.

What type of food is available at the School canteen?

ISPH will offer a choice of Asian, Western and vegetarian meals, freshly cooked on-site daily. The menus are updated every month and will be accessible on the website.

What is the discipline policy at ISPH?

The ISPH Handbook for Families will be issued before the school opens. In advance, you may like to refer to the Family Handbook for ISPKL, since our expecations and procedures at both schools will be the same.

Do students have to wear a school uniform?

Yes, all students must wear the School uniform which will be available for purchase from The Shop @ ISPH.

What if my child is unwell during the school day?

We will have qualified staff in our School Medical Centre and an additional full-time nurse at the Early Years Centre. Parents/Guardians will be contacted if it is deemed that the student is too unwell to remain in school or if further medical treatment is required.

Are there sufficient security measures in place at ISPH?

Safety and security of ISPH students is of utmost importance to us. Our security measures will be constantly monitored and reviewed to ensure our campus is always safe and secure. The School will be under 24 hour CCTV surveillance and a number of security personnel are present on site throughout the day and night time. In addition, the school is adjacent to the ParkCity Hanoi township which has a strong security presence.

How does the School communicate with parents?

We believe that good communication is the key to a successful school. In addition to the school website, we will communicate via our dedicated app so that parents can receive relevant day to day notifications. In addition, all parents will have a dedicated ISPH email account. Parents will be invited to attend regular Coffee Mornings which take many forms, from Open Forums to explaining new initiatives.

How can parents volunteer and become involved at ISPH?

Parents can play an active role via the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) or by volunteering to be a Parent Class Representative. Further information will follow in the near future.

How will the school deal with any bullying issues?

At ISPH we quite simply will not tolerate bullying in any form. We believe that every individual is entitled to work and learn in a safe and secure environment. Our Code of Conduct for Students will be available in the ISPH Family Handbook which will be issued prior to the school opening. In advance, you may like to refer to the Family Handbook for ISPKL, since our expecations and procedures at both schools will be the same.

Will the school take students on field trips?

Field study trips will form an integral part of the curriculum at every level. Parents will be informed well in advance of any such trip.

Are there currently places available for students at ISPH?

Yes, there are currently places available for classes in Year 1 to Year 8. We invite you to apply online via our Admissions Portal. There is no cost for applying to join ISPH as our normal Admissions Fee is waived during the first year.
